Perez Hilton: ‘I Don’t Regret’ Posting Controversial Miley Cyrus Photo

Blogger Perez Hilton says he doesn’t regret posting a link to an upskirt photo of Miley Cyrus earlier this week – a photo that many initially thought showed the 17-year-old star not wearing underwear.

“The point of me choosing that one photo is because it was showing Miley getting out of the car in an unladylike fashion,” he said during an interview on HLN’s “The Joy Behar Show” on Thursday. “And I just thought that was funny and in keeping with her shocking behavior of late, because she was very well aware that she was in a public place at a video shoot and that there were paparazzi present.”

Despite reports to the contrary, Perez said he did not alter the photo and knew that Miley was wearing underwear before he posted a link to the photo on his Twitter account.

“I did not pixelate anything, I did not Photoshop anything,” he said of the photo. “I saw other photos from that video shoot, I was very well aware that Miley was wearing underwear.”

Adding, “You didn’t see anything down there! I can’t help it, Joy, if America has a very dirty imagination.”

Looking back, the blogger said that he wouldn’t change how he handled the incident.

“I don’t regret what I did, and I would do the same thing again…it’s not showing anything inappropriate,” he continued. “It’s not actually doing anything worse than Miley herself has been doing recently, from grinding up on her 40-something-year-old director to pole dancing to all the over-sexualized things that she has been doing and turning herself into this creature.”

Perez also shot down the idea that his posting was child pornography.

“It’s definitely not child pornography and it’s definitely not illegal,” he said. “I think it’s insulting to children to accuse that of [being] child pornography.”

During the interview, Perez acknowledged that ABC, which is owned by Disney – the company behind Miley’s “Hannah Montana” series – had pulled advertising from his website for its show, “The View.” Perez said he hopes the network reinstates their ads.

According to CNN, a spokesman from the U.S. Attorney office in LA said there would be no criminal investigation into Perez’s posting.
