Pink is standing by her negative opinion of the VMAs, but insists she never meant to start a feud with anyone – specifically Demi Lovato.
The “Raise Your Glass” singer allegedly slammed the Aug. 30 broadcast as “gross and embarrassing” in a private Instagram post after the show, and took to Twitter on Thursday night to clarify her remarks.
“Please look for a feud elsewhere,” she wrote. “I have no issue with Demi Lovato or anyone else. I actually forgot she performed.”

I stand by what I said. However, I didn’t intend for the angry people of the world to latch on and make it into something it isn’t. Peace âÅÅï¸Â

Pink’s original Instagram commentary allegedly said that, aside from performances from Macklemore, Pharrell, The Weeknd, Tori Kelly and Justin Bieber, the VMA spectacle made her feel “sad,” “disenfranchised” and “let down by my industry and peers.”
“Music is supposed to inspire. It saved my life. This trash won’t save any kids life,” she continued. While the Grammy winner never mentioned artists like Demi, Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, Iggy Azalea or Miley Cyrus by name, many fans interpreted their omission as an indirect diss.

Pink responded by saying that she “never called out anyone” and was merely agreeing with a friend’s “disappointment about the show.”
You know, this is part of why I’m sad about the VMas and the world in general. Everyone is so nasty and waiting for a fight. I never said

Despite Pink’s public explanation, Demi defended her sexy VMA performance in a series of Tweets on Friday morning.
Cool For The Summer may not “save kid’s lives” or “inspire” but I’d say Skyscraper & Warrior have done a pretty good job of helping people
