‘Popular’s’ Tammy Lynn Michaels ‘Gave Good Face’ Before Jane Lynch

Jane Lynch has ignited the Web with her meticulous recreation of Madonna’s “Vogue” video as “Glee’s” Sue Sylvester, airing in full in the FOX show’s “The Power of Madonna” episode tonight – but this isn’t the first time “Glee” creator Ryan Murphy has paid homage to Madge in a TV series.

Zap2It unearthed a classic moment from The WB’s short-lived – but very beloved – series “Popular,” which featured Tammy Lynn Michaels striking a pose in a cone bra with an army of shirtless dancers long before Sue and the New Directions kids moved to the music.

Tammy, who announced her split with partner Melissa Etheridge last week, recently wrote about her “Vogue” memories on her blog.

“it was fun. i remember i was super self-conscious about showing off the ‘area above my navel’….and do we need to talk about my tittays in those GIANT CONES?’ she wrote on her blog, “Hollywood Farm Girl.”

The actress revealed that she needed a little inspiration before channeling the Queen of Pop.

“right before that night shot, i’d had a glass of champagne just to loosen my non-dancer self up. let’s watch that again. nope. i was not loose,” she wrote. “there was a crew of about 30 guys that were so nice and acted like i had dancing talent instead of drunken rodeo clown.”

So whose “Vogue” is fiercer? Tammy Lynn Michaels’ or Jane Lynch’s? Sound off below!
