Portia de Rossi is taking her wife, Ellen DeGeneres’, last name.
According to court documents obtained by Access Hollywood, the actress (born Amanda Lee Rogers) is legally changing her name to Portia Lee James DeGeneres. Portia filed paperwork for the name change in Los Angeles County Superior Court last week.
In early 2009, Access caught up with the happy couple at the 20th Annual GLAAD Media Awards where Ellen described their wedding day as, “the happiest day of my life.”

“I’m happier than I’ve ever been,” she said at the time of her marriage to the blonde beauty. “And lucky to have found this because, I know how rare it is.”
The couple wed in August 2008.
