Prince Harry Visits San Diego Pub; Dines On Burgers & Beer

After arriving in Southern California for military training on Thursday, Prince Harry hit the town with friends on Friday night, first heading to a San Diego pub.

“He said, ‘I’m glad to be here,’” Ted Taylor, bar manager for McP’s Irish Pub and Grill in Coronado, Calif., told People of the Prince’s Friday night visit. “He sat outside at a picnic table and ate a burger and had a beer.

“He was very personable. He was a nice guy, very low-key,” he continued. “A couple of girls wanted to take pictures, but [the group] said no.”

The 27-year-old royal, who is stateside to undergo Apache helicopter training, stayed at the bar for over an hour, according to the mag.

The party then made its way to San Diego’s Andaz Hotel, where – according to the hotel’s Twitter – he and “20 of his friends” enjoyed the facility’s rooftop bar.

“Prince Harry was out and about in #SanDiego last night @AndazSD’s #IvyRooftop! He & his friends relaxed w/ some drinks while watching rugby,” the hotel Tweeted on Saturday.

The Prince, known as Captain Wales in the Army Air Corps, will spend two months in the U.S., alternating his time between the Naval Air Facility in El Centro, Calif., and at an Air Force station in Gila Bend, Ariz.
