Prince William & Kate Middleton Heading To Canada On First Official Royal Trip After Wedding

The Canadian prime minister’s office confirms Prince William and Kate Middleton will be traveling to Canada this summer on their first official trip as a married couple.

The Governor General of Canada, David Johnston, said Wednesday that the newlyweds will arrive on June 30 and tour the country until July 8.

The couple will visit Alberta, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Ottawa and the Northwest Territories, including a trip to the Arctic.

The two will also take part in Canada Day celebrations in Ottawa on July 1.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper invited the couple to Canada after they announced their engagement last November. Canada is also issuing stamps in their honor. The wedding is April 29.

Queen Elizabeth II is the head of state of Canada, a member of the British Commonwealth of former colonies.
