Producer Phil Spector’s Murder Trial Delayed Again

LOS ANGELES (October 11, 2006) — Another delay in the murder trial of music producer Phil Spector.

It’s now set to begin in March.

Spector’s trial in the 2003 murder of actress Lana Clarkson had been set for January 16th, but the defense requested another delay as it awaits the completion of scientific and forensic tests.

The judge granted the request and set a new date of March Fifth, 2007.

It initially was set to begin April 24th this year, but was postponed to September Eleventh because of lawyers’ scheduling conflicts. Then it was put off a second time, again because of scheduling conficts.

Spector is accused of killing Clarkson in his mansion in February 2003. He’s free on one million dollars bail but faces life in prison if convicted.
