Project Runway Auction

The budding designers on Bravo?s hit ?Project Runway? prove that their runway creations are just as worthy as some of the best couture dresses that walk the Hollywood red carpets.

?Project Runway? designs have been auctioned off for charity following every episode of the show since Season One.

And last season, Laura Bennett may have finished third but she took top honors in the online auction. Her gown, which she designed for Olympus Fashion Week in the finale show at Bryant Park, went for the highest price, bringing in $4,500. The details on her design are extremely intricate – the cascading sequins were sown by hand and the colors bleed out from the belt and grade outwards.

Jeffrey Sebelia,“Project Runway” Season 3 winner, brought in $2,900 with his top gown. The zipper seams wowed the crowd and the judges.

Uli Herzner’s flowy safari cocktail design went for $3,425. Her sexy styles contour perfectly around the female figure.

Although Michael Knight was eliminated first, his wild prints and flattering masterpieces were popular with the audience and with the bidders. This Michael creation sold for $1,325.

If the auction is any indication, ?Project Runway? designers have not only made it work on the catwalk but they will surely carry on in the fashion world.
