Prosecutors Reject Burglary Case Against Lindsay Lohan

Los Angeles prosecutors have rejected filing a burglary case against Lindsay Lohan over the alleged theft of items from a friend’s house.

The determination was made Tuesday afternoon after police detectives presented a potential case against the “Mean Girls” star.

The case stemmed from a reported burglary on Aug. 18 at a Hollywood Hills home where Lohan had been a guest.

Prosecutors cited lack of evidence to prove Lohan and two others were involved in the incident.

The 26-year-old remains on informal probation for taking a necklace without permission in January 2011, just weeks after she was released from court-mandated rehab.

A rep for Lindsay released the following statement to Access Hollywood:

“Lindsay is glad this matter has been cleared up so she can focus on her upcoming projects. It is unfortunate that many media outlets were quick to point fingers and jump to conclusions without having all the facts.”
