Rainn Wilson Tweets About His Emmy Nod, Earns Kudos From Sen. John McCain

Rainn Wilson wasted no time in telling over a million of his closest friends about his Emmy nomination on Thursday morning.

“Hey, twitterverse, I just got an Emmy nomination!” “The Office” star Tweeted shortly after the nominees were announced.

Rainn, who plays office eccentric Dwight Schrute on the NBC series, was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series – his third nod for the role.

“I am supremely honored to be nominated for an Emmy for the third time,” the star said in a statement to Access Hollywood following his Twitter announcement. “They say good things come in threes, like comets, omens and Jonas Brothers. God bless these United States of America.”

But Rainn wasn’t the only one Tweeting about his success.

“Hats off, queerball!” co-star Mindy Kaling Tweeted at him.

And Rainn got Twitter support from fans as far away from Hollywood as Capitol Hill, as Senator John McCain took a minute away from politics to congratulate the comedian.

“Congratulations and hope you win!!” the former presidential candidate Tweeted at Rainn.
