Ralph Macchio Reveals Injury, But Will He Be Able To Compete On ‘Dancing With The Stars’?

Just like his character Daniel LaRusso did in a martial arts competition in the film the “Karate Kid,” actor Ralph Macchio is hoping to push through the pain and perform on tonight’s “Dancing with the Stars.”

“Will be rough around the edges w/o rehearse time. But performing with @Karina_Smirnoff for u guys is the hi-light of every week. Hangin in,” Ralph Tweeted on Monday, hinting he will dance on Monday’s show.

The actor’s publicist also confirmed to Access Hollywood that Ralph will be competing tonight.

As for his injury, the actor revealed via Twitter that he has a “ruptured cyst” on the back of his knee, “causing acute pain.” His professional dancing partner Karina Smirnoff added that there are several other conditions affecting the actor’s body.

”@ralphmacchio had Baker’s cyst rupture behind his knee w/ severe inflammation& tendonitis,” the blonde beauty Tweeted. “We r doing everything we can to be ok 4 tonite.”

Karina revealed that when the two hit the ballroom on Monday, they would be performing without a ton of practice hours behind them.

“We lost 4 days of rehearsals. But I couldn’t be more proud of @ralphmacchio & his will and desire to continue through pain. Please pray 4 us,” she added.

And, quoting a line from the song that accompanied the fight sequence in “Karate Kid,” Ralph added, “Been down this wk dealing w/some serious pain management, but as someone once said “nothing’s gonna ever keep me down” :-)”
