Ray J Arrested For Vandalism, Battery At Beverly Wilshire Hotel

Singer Ray J was arrested in Beverly Hills, Calif., on Friday evening.

Beverly Hills Police said the BHPD was called at 7:36 PM regarding a person disturbing the peace at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.

When the authorities arrived at the hotel, they found Ray J (William Ray Norwood Jr.) in the valet area. He was asked to leave the property by hotel security, but refused, police said. Hotel staff said they wanted to conduct a private person’s arrest, but Ray J refused.

According to police, when officers took the 33-year-old into custody, he kicked out the side window of one of the patrol units. When officers subsequently removed him from the vehicle to restrain his feet, he became combative and spat into the face of one of the officers, police said.

Ray J was booked for trespassing, private person’s arrest, vandalism on a police car, resisting arrest and battery on a police officer.

His bail was set at $20,000 and he was later released.

Ray J is due in court on July 25 at the Airport Courthouse, police told Access Hollywood on Saturday.
