Reba McEntire On Stepdaughter-In-Law Kelly Clarkson’s Body Shaming Experience

Take that, body shamers – Kelly Clarkson’s stepmother-in-law has spoken!

Reba McEntire, stepmom to Kelly’s husband, Brandon Blackstock, says critics of Kelly’s weight haven’t succeeded in bringing her down.

“I want everybody to know who’s watching today that Kelly Clarkson is the happiest I’ve ever seen her,” Reba emphatically told Access Hollywood Live’s Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Tuesday. “I’ve known her since 2002 when she won the first ‘American Idol’ and she asked me to come on the finale to sing with her because I was her idol… I have watched her grow, I have watched her become one of the greatest entertainers, the greatest singers, and grow with that.”

Reba — whose new album, “Love Somebody,” is available now – said the “Heartbeat Song” singer has dealt with struggles just like everyone else, but recent cruel commentary on her weight hasn’t even registered on her radar.

“She’s had ups and downs, but she’s as happy as she’s ever been as long as I’ve known her,” she said. “That’s all I’m gonna say about it.”

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Chris Wallace and Mike Gallagher apologized to Kelly last week after mocking the new mom’s weight on Mike’s radio show.

During an appearance on “The Elle DeGeneres Show” earlier this month, Kelly said she’s dealt with weight critics since her “Idol” debut – and she’s not worried about it.

“Sometimes we’re more fit. Like, especially me,” she said. “I’m such a creative person that I yoyo. So sometimes I’m more fit and I get into kickboxing hardcore. And then sometimes I don’t and I’m like… I’d rather have wine.”

#TeamKelly forever.
