NEW YORK, NY (September 21, 2007) — Regis Philbin still can’t claim to be the best Regis on the planet.
`He lost the Relly Award for Best Regis to Neil Patrick Harris on “Live With Regis and Kelly.”
Philbin has never won the award even though the Rellys were created to give Regis and Kelly Ripa a chance to win something since they have such a long losing record at the Daytime Emmys.
In his acceptance speech, Harris thanked Philbin’s “ticker” for failing “now and again,” giving him a chance to guest host. He also thanked Ripa for being a “sweet, sweet kisser.”
Ripa won Rellys for her supermodel walk, her commentary on “The Bachelor” and dressing up as Christina Aguilera for Halloween. made by Thornburgh Thursday. Both declined to comment further.
