Reign: See An Exclusive New Image Of Adelaide Kane, Torrance Coombs & Toby Regbo

“Reign” rules! The hotly-tipped new series premieres on The CW in under a month, and to help pass the time, AccessHollyood.com has an exclusive first look at brand new art from the drama.

The new image features actress Adelaide Kane as the young Mary Queen of Scots. On the right side of the pic is her betrothed — Prince Francis, played by British actor Toby Regbo.

On the left is a man who will tempt her heart — Sebastian (Torrance Coombs), the illegitimate (and favorite) son of King Henry.

“I actually did a lot of research about Mary,” Adelaide told TV critics over the summer about taking on the role. “I wanted to get to know her as a woman and as a person and not just as a dry, historical figure.

“She was really a remarkable woman,” the actress continued. “There is a little bit of literature out there about her personality. She was very witty, charming, very, very intelligent woman. She spoke six languages. She played two different instruments. She rode. She hunted. She hawked. She danced. She played golf. She was an incredibly energetic, vivacious young woman.”

And The CW is adding the charm and vivaciousness of Mary into the show. Toby previously hinted that when his fiancee, Mary, arrives at French court, she shakes things up.

“When they were younger, they played. They played, and they were friends, and so he was suspecting, I think, a bit of a little girl to turn up,” Toby said at the time.

“Their marriage is to hold an alliance between countries, and then, a very powerful woman turns up with opinions. And if you think for yourself, it throws him off his feet,” he added.

Playing Sebastian or “Bash,” Torrance helps provide some of the show’s action (as the bastard son of the King he has more freedom), and he’s had fun swinging about swords and riding horses.

“There’s something kind of elevated about the whole thing. Like, you are in these castles, and you are wearing these cool clothes, and you get to do sword fighting and ride horses,” he told reporters at the July TV critics event.

“Reign” premieres October 17 at 9/8c on The CW.
