Report: A-Rod Responds To Wife’s Divorce Filing

New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez is responding to his wife’s request for a divorce after almost four weeks of remaining silent issue.

In court documents expected to be filed Thursday, the slugger says the marriage is “irretrievably broken,” according to People.

Rodriguez reportedly goes on to criticize Cynthia Rodriguez for speaking out about his alleged “extra marital affairs and other marital misconduct.”

The Yankee also reportedly argues that their divorce should be settled by their prenup that Cynthia signed in 2002.

As for their children, Rodriguez wants shared responsibility for their “wealth, health, education and religious upbringing.”

Attorneys for Rodriguez told the mag that he “requests that both parties are designated as ‘co-residential’ parents, realizing that the children are likely to spend more time with wife given the realities of husband’s professional life.”

The Yankee would reportedly like the court to determine a fair amount of child support that he will pay.
