Report: Former ‘Dancing’ Champ Nicole Scherzinger To Host ‘The X Factor’

She won over America as champion on Season 10 of “Dancing with the Stars,” and now, Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger is heading to “The X Factor,” People reported.

While Nicole actually served as a temporary judge on the UK version of the show – while British judge Cheryl Cole was suffering from Malaria late last year – Nicole will serve as a host of the upcoming American version of the show, a source told the magazine.

Nicole previously served as a judge on NBC’s “The Sing Off,” hosted by Nick Lachey.

A rep for FOX had no comment on the report when contacted by Access Hollywood.

Presently, just Simon Cowell and former record label executive L.A. Reid have been officially confirmed as judges on the show, while a number of names, including Mariah Carey, Cheryl Cole, Paula Abdul and Jessica Simpson are said to be in the running to fill the other seats on the judges panel.

Previously, rumors had surfaced that Enrique Iglesias was in the running for a host gig on the program, but nothing has officially been announced.

“The X Factor” will premiere in the fall on FOX. The winner of the show, which is currently auditioning contestants across the country, will take home a $5 million prize.
