Report: Howard Stern Fooled By Doctored Beyonce Recording

A reportedly doctored recording of Beyonce Knowles sounding out of tune at a “Today” show appearance last year, which shock-jock Howard Stern played on his Sirius radio show on Wednesday, is a fake, according to a man who told TMZ he made it.

“It’s a little bit crazy. No one in their right mind would sound like that, and no one would cheer for someone singing like that,” the unnamed alleged audio-perp told TMZ Wednesday afternoon.

The controversial recording, played by Stern on his show on Wednesday morning, had the shock jock questioning whether Beyonce can sing.

Hours after playing the audio, Beyonce’s dad and manager, Matthew Knowles, quickly slammed those who doubted his singing superstar daughter’s pipes.

“If no one took the time to look at the biggest Inauguration in the history of America then shame on them,” he said in a statement released to Access Hollywood. “If no one took the time to listen to Beyonce sing ‘America the Beautiful’ and ‘At Last’ at the Neighborhood Ball for the first dance of President Obama and the First Lady, and they question Beyonce’s vocal ability, they’ve gotta be an idiot.

“At 12 years into her career, the last thing someone should be questioning is her vocal ability,” Knowles statement continued. “That would be like questioning if Kobe Bryant could shoot a jump shot. The vocals were obviously altered.”

And Beyonce too, responded to the recording, though she took a different spin — thanking the person for creating the stir.

“I haven’t heard it but it sounds completely ridiculous,” Beyonce told MTV while at the junket for her forthcoming film “Obsessed.” “Everyone’s heard me sing and it’s perfect timing, actually, because I’ll be on the ‘Today’ show tomorrow singing ‘Halo,’ or tonight you can watch me sing live on David Letterman! It’s perfect promotion, whoever came up with that idea.”
