Report: ‘Inferno’ Producers Replacing Lindsay Lohan After Difficulty Insuring The Star

Lindsay Lohan has reportedly been replaced as the star of the Linda Lovelace biopic, “Inferno,” according to E! News.

“We are withdrawing our offer from Lindsay Lohan,” “Inferno” director Matthew Wilder reportedly told the website. “We are currently in negotiations [with another actress] and working out the legalities of bringing her onboard.”

Until now, Matthew has been vigilant in his support of Lindsay, insisting that the actress’ talent warranted putting the production on hold.

“We have stuck by Lindsay very patiently for a long time with a lot of love and support,” Matthew told the site. “Ultimately, the impossibility of insuring her — and some other issues — have made it impossible for us to go forward.”

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Matthew reportedly told RadarOnline that although Lindsay was still his “number one choice” for the role, he was prepared with a “Plan B” in case the troubled starlet was unable to fulfill her filming duties.

“We have had a great response from other people who really want the part,” Matthew reportedly told the site on Tuesday. “But we will wait until Lindsay has fulfilled all of her rehab and court obligations to see if she will be able to take her place as we had originally planned.”

Lindsay is currently undergoing court-ordered rehab treatment, under the direction of the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, Calif.
