Report: Naomi Campbell Arrested For Assault

LONDON (October 26, 2006) — Model Naomi Campbell returned to a police station Thursday after allegedly being involved in an altercation the day before, police and news reports said.

Metropolitan Police had said Wednesday that officers were called to an address in central London in the afternoon and arrested a 36-year-old woman at 1:20 p.m. She was released on bail.

Police declined on Thursday to say whether Campbell, 36, was involved.

But in response to inquiries about her confirmed that “a 36-year-old woman” had returned to a police station Thursday morning and was released on bail until an undisclosed date in December.

The force has a policy of not naming people who have been arrested unless they are charged with a crime.

The Sun (a UK publication) claims she assaulted a drug counselor.

A rep for Campbell released the following statement to Access Hollywood:

“All I can say is that we feel this is a misunderstanding and that things will be cleared up when the police have investigated.”

Campbell admitted in 2000 that she attacked her personal assistant Georgina Galanis. The model paid an undisclosed sum to Galanis and was not convicted of a crime.
