Report: Prince William & Kate Middleton To Honeymoon On The Great Barrier Reef

The honeymoon location appears to have been revealed!

Prince William and Kate Middleton, or Catherine, as the royals are expecting the press to call her after her wedding day, will head to Lizard Island, on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, for their honeymoon, the Sunday Mirror reported.

William’s father, Prince Charles, spent time there before he was married, according to the paper.

Rumor has it Madonna has stayed there, as have Charlize Theron, Teri Hatcher, Kate Hudson and Tiger Woods, according to the paper.

Lizard Island — a National Park reportedly named by Captain Cook when he discovered it in 1770, is part of a collection of islands in the Coral Sea. It can be reached via a flight from the city Cairns, and recently, while on a trip there, William even suggested he might head back for his post-wedding plans.

“I’ve always wanted to dive the Great Barrier Reef,” the royal reportedly told the people of Cairns, according to the Mirror. “I will have to come back – maybe we’ll have a honeymoon in Cairns.”

Staying at the picturesque locale, however, is not cheap. It reportedly costs a whopping $3,299 a night.

Before the newlyweds take their honeymoon, they are expected to stay in two British locales – Buckingham Palace the actual night of the wedding, before heading up to Balmoral in Scotland on Saturday, according to the Sunday newspaper.
