Robert Downey Jr.: Gwyneth Dissed My Kissing Skills

Robert Downey Jr. may seem to be the perfect fit for the role of playboy superhero Tony Stark in “Iron Man 2,” but at an LA press event on Friday, he said that co-star Gwyneth Paltrow found him lacking in the love department.

“She said… I didn’t know what I was doing, like, ‘It didn’t feel good,’” he said of the film’s kissing scene, according to People. “And I said, ‘You know what? First of all, we’re all friends, so what would be creepy is if I was coming off all sexy to you while we were shooting – which by the way, I’ve done that in movies and it creeps them out! So why would I creep you out?’”

Robert added that despite Gwyneth’s protests, the moment was still memorable.

“She still thinks about it,” he joked, according to the mag. “I couldn’t get her off me!”

Gwyneth’s unease may have come from the scene’s observers – her husband, Coldplay singer Chris Martin, and Robert’s wife, producer Susan Downey.

“It was great,” the star, who plays Stark’s secretary, Pepper Potts, reportedly said sarcastically. “Because both my husband and his wife were right there on the set.”

“Iron Man 2” is due in theaters May 7.
