Robert Pattinson Moved By ‘Eclipse’ Fans’ Camping, Talks Being Related To Real Dracula

Robert Pattinson may be one of the biggest stars on the planet, but at Thursday night’s “Twilight Saga: Eclipse” premiere in Los Angeles, he admitted to being happily overwhelmed by the support of his fans.

The British actor, who plays Edward Cullen in the vampire series, said he was humbled by the hundreds of fans who camped out night after night in downtown Los Angeles in the run up to the premiere of the third movie in the “Twilight” franchise.

“They’ve been camping out,” a very touched Robert told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson. “Some of them have been camping out since Saturday, apparently.”

Robert said their super gesture of fandom prompted him to whip out his pen — in force!

“I spiral into this oblivion of guilt whenever they say that because I don’t know what to do. All I can do is sign!” he laughed.

In related news, Access Hollywood asked Robert about the recent revelation that he is related – distantly – to Vlad the Impaler, the inspiration for the myth of Dracula.

“I just heard about it,” Robert told Shaun about the news. “But I always knew.”

“You always knew?” Shaun asked.

“My middle name’s Vlad!” he laughed.
