Robin Williams To Make Broadway Debut In March As A Tiger In ‘Bengal Tiger At The Baghdad Zoo’

Funnyman Robin Williams will make his Broadway debut next year in the play “Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo.”

Producers say the award-winning actor has signed onto join Rajiv Joseph’s dark comedy that will follow the fall of Saddam Hussein. It’s narrated by a philosophical tiger who encounters two American marines and an Iraqi gardener.

Williams will play the tiger. Moises Kaufman will direct the play, which premiered last year in Los Angeles.

Broadway previews begin March 10 with an opening set for March 31.

Williams starred off-Broadway in 1988 opposite Steve Martin in a revival of “Waiting for Godot.”
