ROLL CALL: Broadway’s ‘Spider-Man’ Snagged In A Web Of Preview Snafus

Your Daily Dispatch of Celebrity Shenanigans

Preview Jitters For “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark”: The long-delayed and highly anticipated Broadway musical, “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark,” (the creation of director Julie Taymor and U2’s Bono & The Edge) had its opening preview on Sunday and reportedly got off to a shaky start! According to The New York Post, which called the performance “an epic flop,” the play suffered a slew of mishaps – including equipment falling into the audience. Stage wires reportedly fell into the house where the audience sat, set pieces were missing parts and one of the show’s stars (Natalie Mendoza, who plays new character Arachne) was left swaying over the crowd on wires. The preview reportedly ran over three hours and was halted for five minutes during the show’s last 10 minutes. During the downtime, one theatergoer reportedly shouted, “I don’t know about the rest of you, but I feel like a guinea pig tonight!” For more on “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark’s” debut, CLICK HERE!

Jason London Heading Down The Aisle: The other half of the London Bros. (remember the twin hunks from “Dazed and Confused” and “Party of Five”), Jason London is reportedly engaged. According to E! Online, Jason got engaged to Sofia Karstens on Saturday. The couple is scheduled to walk down the aisle on July 16, 2011. Fear not London Brothers fans, Jason’s twin brother, Jeremy – who Roll Call readers will remember claimed he was kidnapped and forced to take drugs last summer in Palm Springs, Calif. – could be back on the market soon! He’s reportedly in the midst of a divorce… maybe he’ll meet a new love as his bro’s wedding?

Buble Won’t Compete With The Prince!: In more wedding news, Canadian crooner Michael Buble has decided to not compete with Prince William and Kate Middleton when it comes to his big day. “I was going to do it on [April] 29th, but figured I wouldn’t get any press,” the singer said during an appearance on NBC’s “Today” show on Monday, referring to the British couple’s wedding day. The singer will marry Argentine actress Luisana Loreley Lopilato de la Torre on April 6 now. The last name “Buble” has never sounded so succinct and simple!

LiLo Returns To Twitter: After an almost two-month break from Twitter, coinciding with her time in rehab, Lindsay Lohan has returned to the social networking site and she’s quoting Tom Cruise movies! “Every passing minute is another chance to turn it all around. Sofia~Vanilla Sky. LOVE this quote!” the actress wrote, reTweeting a post from Tom Cruise’s Twitter. The Twitter love fest continued, with Tom writing Lindsay back, “Our [love] 2 Lindsay!” Roll Call thinks this little back and fourth was #special.
