ROLL CALL: Cher Musical ‘A Long Way Off’

Your Daily Dispatch of Celebrity Shenanigans

When Will The Cher Musical Debut?: Cher fans will need to wait awhile before the star brings her life to a Broadway stage. After news broke that the Oscar, Emmy, Grammy and Golden Globe-winning superstar was taking her life story to the Great White Way, her rep told Access Hollywood, “Broadway show is a long way off. She’s working on an album but it’s not close to completion. She hopes to go on the road but I think that’s a while off.” In a series of very Cher-esque Tweets she detailed what the process will be all about. “Prods. R writing [musical] now about my life with my music,” and “I’m help.2 write cause i was there & know stories that no1 knows but me! I hope it happens!” and “Its VERY SLOW PROCESS! been working on it quite a while now.” Is Cher on her way to joining the EGOT (Emmy Grammy, Oscar, Tony) club?

‘CSI’ Madonna?: Speaking of divas… is Madonna doing everything in her power – and the power of science – to leave none of her DNA behind while on her “MDNA” tour? According to Britain’s Mirror, the singer is using a “sterilization team” to remove any hair, skin and saliva she might leave behind. No word on how Madge’s reported “sterilization team” deals with things left behind following her naked concert shenanigans.

“Project Runway” Contestant Now A Woman: One day you’re a man, the next you’re not! “Project Runway” finalist Andy South, who appeared on Season 8, is rocking a new gender. Andy is now known as Nong Ariyaphon Southiphong. The designer has changed her Facebook page to read “female.” Check out her new glam look, HERE!

Is “Brave” Braver Than We Thought?: Speaking of courage, many – including Entertainment Weekly – are wondering if there is more to “Brave’s” message than just bravery? The Pixar female hero, Merida doesn’t want to marry, hates princess getups and is better with a bow and arrow than any of the guys – along with rock climbing, horse-riding and fighting off angry magical bears – is making some people question if there is any LGBT subtext to the Pixar character. Disney and Pixar have never said the character is gay or lesbian, but EW points out that Merida is the first “completely romantically disinclined” princess for the studio. More on EW’s theory HERE!
