ROLL CALL: Connor Cruise Will Play Will & Ali Lohan’s Film Debut

Your Daily Dispatch of Celebrity Shenanigans

Cruise To Play Young Will Smith: It might not be the Cruise you might have first thought of, but Connor Cruise, son of Tom and Nicole Kidman, will make his big screen debut in the upcoming film, “Seven Pounds,” playing a young version of Cruise family friend, Will Smith, Access Hollywood has learned. “Tom is so proud of Connor,” a source told the People. “He’s proud of him for really doing this on his own.” Connor will reportedly star alongside Woody Harrelson and Rosario Dawson. Talk about hard parents to measure up to! Roll Call wishes Connor well though!

Lil’ Lohan’s Film Debut: In more Hollywood nepotism news, Ali Lohan is working hard to step out of her big sister’s shadow and will make her film debut in, “Mostly Ghostly,” People reports. A source tells People that the young reality star sibling will play “a popular high school senior.” The film is based on a series of books by R.L. Stine, about an 11-year-old boy and his two friends who are ghosts.

Paula To ‘Dance’?: Could our favorite ever-positive “American Idol” judge be trading in her words of encouragement for fierce dance moves? “I’m just hypothetically thinking about it,” Paula told OK! Magazine at Monday’s taping of “Dancing With the Stars,” about the possibility of starring on the dancing competition show. But what about the potential conflict of appearing on a competing reality show? “There’s a thing called the ‘off-season,’ I think,” Paula added. No word on who Paula’s partner might be, but we’re guessing MC Skat Kat (from Paula’s “Opposites Attract” video) has some free time on his hands.

‘Little Mermaid’ Rocked: Most kids don’t have the luxury of having two rock star parents, but Kingston Rossdale, son of Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale, is not your average kid. The Stefani/Rossdale family was spotted at the sing-along version of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood over the weekend enjoying all the “Under the Sea” fun, People reports. Kingston left with a DVD before heading to Coldwater Canyon Park to enjoy the playground. Yeah, we’ll admit it, we’re just a little bit jealous.

Winehouse ‘Excited’ Again: After nabbing three Ivor Novello Award nominations, which recognizes the best in British songwriting and composing talent, Amy Winehouse is elated. “Winning Ivors for my songwriting have been some of the best moments in my music career,” Winehouse told People. “I’m overwhelmed to be nominated three times, let alone twice in the same category. It’s come at a great time too. I’m excited to be back at work in the studio, enjoying songwriting and making music again.” With her beehive back in place, and “Blake incarcerated” not around to distract Amy, we’re predicting good things for the rollercoaster songstress.
