Roll Call: Hayden’s Super Singing & Rosie’s TV Touchdown?

A TOUCHDOWN FOR ROSIE?: Rosie O’Donnell may be gone from “The View,” but she’s definitely not through with the small screen. Along with reprising her role as Dawn Budge on FX’s “Nip/Tuck,” she may also be lacing up some cleats for an appearance on NBC’s football drama, “Friday Night Lights.” “Rosie’s a big fan of ‘Friday Night Lights,’ as we know from ‘The View,’ and we heard she was interested in being on the show,” executive producer Jason Katims reportedly told . “Usually we don’t do any stunt casting, but we have a character coming up — six or seven episodes into the new season; of a female soccer coach who is really angry about all of the school’s resources going to football. It’s a really funny character and I think she’d be perfect for it.” While Katims stressed that Rosie’s appearance would only be for one episode, he said that “if she comes out, loves doing it, and wants to do more, she could do it.” O’Donnell’s rep, Cindi Berger, told Ausiello that there are “no definitive plans,” but confirmed that the wheels are in motion. “They are in talks and she loves the show,” she said. As for Rosie herself: she responded to two different fan questions regarding an “FNL” appearance on her , writing “sure would,” and “if they ask me, yes.” Our own Dish of Salt, Laura Saltman spoke to “FNL” stars Zach Gilford and Scott Porter at this week’s NBC press event, and they said the cast sent Rosie a gift basket full of footballs to thank her for being such a vocal fan of the show when she was on “The View.” Additionally, Laura overheard NBC Entertainment Co-Chairman, Ben Silverman, telling the cast of “Friday Night Lights” he could try and get his friend Lance Armstrong on the show!

A DOWNED DIDDY?: Singer Kelly Rowland was treated for dehydration Sunday, after during her “ThisDay” performance in Nigeria — but she was not the festival’s only performer to fall ill. reports that Sean “Diddy” Combs has gotten sick as well. Malkin was reportedly told by Diddy’s rep that the rapper/designer came down with a fever that reached a dangerously high 105 degrees. The report doesn’t state whether Combs contracted the illness while in Africa, but the fever did hold up some of his plans this week. Malkin claims that Diddy canceled a shoot he was supposed to do Tuesday morning in New York City for a Macy’s commercial, but his rep insisted it eventually happened late Tuesday night. “He’s a trouper,” the rep reportedly said, adding: “He’s resting now. He’s feeling better.”

ABC HAS ‘DANCE’ FEVER: There’s no rest for the judges of “Dancing With the Stars,” as announces ABC’s plans to develop another dancing-themed show starring Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba. The new project is based on the BBC series, “Dance X,” a competition designed to find members of a musical troupe made up of people who can dance and sing. Instead of serving as judges, Tonioli and Inaba will reportedly act as coach-choreographers on the show, as they come up with “big, brassy” production numbers. The focus of the show, however, will reportedly be on the rivalry between Tonioli and Inaba. Bruno & Carrie Ann will each head up a team of performers, with viewers voting on their favorite team following a dance-floor showdown each week. The week’s losing team will be forced to drop one member, to be chosen by the coach (Tonioli or Inaba). ABC has reportedly ordered six episodes of “Dance X,” likely to begin airing in January.

BYE BYE, BABY BULGE: Tori Spelling has been working hard to lose weight since giving birth to a son in March, and she found that it wasn’t easy at first. “I thought I looked heavier after I had the baby, she told . “[The bulge] left the stomach area and shifted into areas that I didn’t know could gain weight?I was like, ‘Uh-oh.’” Spelling, who reportedly gained 40 pounds during pregnancy, told US that she’s lost 22 pounds in four months by following the “NutriSystem Nourish” weight loss program and exercising with a trainer. “We do a lot of kickboxing, work on the abs, squats and lunges,” she reportedly said. And while she remarked that she likes her “curves,” Tori’s goal is to lose another ten pounds, so she can show off her new figure. “I’m going to put on a bikini and walk proudly down the beach!,” she reportedly said.

CONAN’S ‘SIMPSONS’ SNUB: And finally, Late-Night talk show host Conan O’Brien sounded off to about not being included in the writing of “The Simpsons Movie.” O’Brien served on “The Simpsons” writing staff in the show’s early years, but was excluded from working with the show’s other past writers on the movie. While he reportedly left the show in 1993 “on good terms” with the producers, showrunner Al Jean reportedly said that O’Brien would have simply ‘’laughed’’ off an invite to work on the movie. Conan responded to Jean’s comment with this tongue-in-cheek statement to EW: ‘’I cleared my talk show schedule for a year at great financial cost to myself, got an apartment right outside the Fox lot, and told them I was ready to report to work. All I heard back was that they were having trouble finding me a parking space, and then they stopped returning my calls altogether. I am stunned and disappointed…. Truth be told, I worry that the Simpsons-writing portion of my brain has been destroyed after 14 years of talking to Lindsay Lohan and that guy from One Tree Hill, so maybe it’s all for the best.’’
