Would Someone Just Volunteer As Tribute Already!: The casting of “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” is buzzing louder than a pack of tracker jackers chasing Katniss! Rumors are swirling about who might land the coveted role of tribute Finnick Odair in the second installment in the series. Hollywood’s hottest vampire, Robert Pattinson, was in the rumor mix for a minute or two – but the actor told USA Today that a quick call to his agent squelched his hunger for the role. “I woke up this morning and saw all these things about me being cast in ‘The Hunger Games.’ I was kind of curious for a second. So I called my agent,” he told the paper. “My agent was like, ‘No.’ [He] was like, ‘No one’s going to offer you that part.’ I was like, ‘Thanks for the reassurance!’ Fans of the book will remember that Finnick is one of the games’ most skilled tribute, known for his skills in the water and his deadly use of a trident. So who is Hollywood whispering about? According to E! Online, Armie Hammer, Taylor Kitsch and Garrett Hedlund are in the running for the role. However, MTV News reported yesterday that Taylor has said he is not interested. Maybe Effie Trinket should just gather up all the names of young Hollywood actors put them in a bowl and pull a name out! E! also reported that Lionsgate could announce casting for the role as early as next week.
