A SIMPLY DEHYDRATED LIFE? : Nicole Richie was briefly hospitalized late Friday night, reports E! ONLINE and US WEEKLY. According to E!, Richie was treated for dehydration after feeling ill on the set of “The Simple Life,” an E! reality series. She was reportedly examined by an on-set doctor and then taken to a nearby hospital. She received intravenous fluids for 15 minutes and was released. US claims that the hospitalization followed a 20-hour shoot, and that Richie had no time to eat due to the tight filming schedule. Richie’s rep issued a statement to Access Hollywood, stating: “Nicole had to leave the set of “Simple Life” today (Friday) after showing signs of dehydration. She was seen by the on-set doctor who felt that the best option for re-hydrating Nicole was through I.V. After being seen by an emergency room doctor and receiving fifteen minutes of intravenous fluids, she was released. Nicole is home resting and will return to work this evening. We are proud of the weight that Nicole is gaining and her focus on her health.”

A PIG-OUT FEEDING FRENZY! : Someone who did have time to eat this weekend, and was reportedly mobbed by fans while doing it, is former president Bill Clinton. THE NEW YORK POST’s PAGE SIX writes that Clinton dined at NY eatery The Spotted Pig with music superstars Bono and Jay-Z. According to the report, diners got excited when they saw Bono enter the restaurant, but when they realized his “date” was Clinton, they became frenzied. It reportedly took him 45 minutes to leave the restaurant at the end of his meal, because so many people wanted his autograph. The report claims that Clinton also took the time to say hello to the kitchen staff and the dishwashers before leaving.

HOW MUCH FOR A MOONWALK? : If you want to get up close and personal with Michael Jackson, you may want to have your checkbook handy. THE ASSOCIATED PRESS reports that Jackson is in Tokyo to host an exclusive party and sponsor a fan art competition, and that VIP guests of the party paying $3,500 will get to spend about 30 seconds with The King of Pop. For those who can’t afford the face-time with Jackson, there is hope of meeting him if they win the fan art contest — three winning artists chosen by Jackson will have brunch with the star and get their picture taken together.

MORE GIGGLES THAN MOANS : Christina Ricci had a chance to get “up close and personal” with a pop superstar, but it was only for filming purposes. Ricci stars in the new release “Black Snake Moan,” and she reportedly tells PEOPLE of her sex scene with co-star Justin Timberlake: “Well, you know, actors make out with other actors all the time. If they’re sweet ? and Justin is a very sweet, sweet guy, a lot of fun to be with and goofy ? then you can turn it into a situation where you just laugh your ass off. Like, ‘Okay, fine, now we’re naked and on top of each other. Hi, how are you?’ ” She reportedly had a great time filming with Timberlake, referring to him as an “artist” and talking about how impressed she was. With his acting.

A NEW DANCE FOR DIAZ? : Justin’s ex Cameron Diaz seems to have found a new man to be “impressed” with, according to THE NEW YORK DAILY NEWS’ BEN WIDDICOMBE, and it’s not reported boyfriend Kelly Slater. A source claims that Diaz was allegedly seen in a “lip lock” with actor/singer Tyrese Gibson at LA’s club Xenii recently, following reports that the pair attended Harvey Weinstein’s pre-Oscar party together two weeks ago. “They made out right in front of me on the dance floor,” says the source. A rep for Diaz tells THE DAILY NEWS that the two stars are not dating.
