A FATHER’S FEAR: DETAILS magazine offers a video slide show of Brad Pitt’s photo spread for their October issue, along with some quotes from their interview with him. “The only thing that frightens me today is something happening to my kids or something happening to Angie,” Pitt reportedly says of his family with partner Angelina Jolie.

BAIO’S BABY WOES: Actor Scott Baio and fiancée Renee Sloane are expecting a baby, and Baio told PEOPLE that he saw the baby for the first time this week with 4-D imaging. “She is a girl and she has my head! I got pissed off about it because I have seen myself in drag for television and I am an ugly woman,” he reportedly joked.

ROSIE’S VIEW ON DEBUT: In a video blog posting on her Web site, Former “View” co-host Rosie O’Donnell offers her opinion of Whoopi Goldberg’s debut on the show’s season premiere yesterday. “It was alright,” Rosie said. “It was good. Whoopi was good. It was okay.” The revamped set, however, “was an error in judgement,” she says.

THE SEINFELD METHOD: Jerry Seinfeld has a way to ensure he doesn’t “bomb” when performing stand-up comedy, USA TODAY reports. “I usually have a pretty good idea of what I’m doing before I get up there,” he reportedly said on a conference call promoting “The Comedy Festival” with Chris Rock. “If it doesn’t work, I have something else. I never just completely roll the dice.”

A ROCKIN’ CAUSE: John Mayer, Metallica, Tom Waits and Eddie Vedder are among the artists that will join Neil Young for his 21st annual Bridge School Benefit concerts on Oct. 27-28, BILLBOARD reports. Proceeds support the Bridge School, the Northern California school for children with physical and speech impediments, co-founded by Young’s wife, Pegi.

COMIC BOOK ‘HEROES’: TV GUIDE offers a first look at one of two covers for the upcoming “Heroes” graphic novel, featuring the NBC show’s cast drawn and painted by renowned comic book artist Alex Ross. The 240-page book from DC Comics’ Wildstorm imprint compiles the first 34 chapters of the “Heroes” mini-comics featured on NBC.com.
