Rolling Stones Have Biggest-Grossing Tour Ever

LONDON (November 27, 2006) — To say the latest Rolling Stones tour is a success is an understatement.

Billboard reports the Stones’ “A Bigger Bang” tour has grossed 437 million dollars, making it the top-grossing tour in history.

The band has played 110 shows for 3.5 million fans since August 2005.

In theory, it could have been bigger. The Stones delayed and canceled some shows after Keith Richards fell out of a tree while on vacation in Fiji and after Mick Jagger suffered throat problems.

U2 was the previous record-holder. Their Vertigo tour grossed 377 million dollars.
