Ronda Rousey Talks Embarrassment After Holm Fight, Her Goal To Come Back

Ronda Rousey may have lost to Holly Holm, but she plans to get back in the
octagon against Holm at some point.

“I need to come
back,” Rousey told ESPN the Magazine, which features her on its newest
cover. “I need to beat this chick. Who knows if I’m going to pop my teeth
out or break my jaw or rip my lip open. I have to f***ing do it.”

Rousey said after
taking a blow from Holm early on during that November 14 fight, she wasn’t on her game.

“I just feel so embarrassed. How I fought after that is such an
embarrassing representation of myself. I wasn’t even f***ing there,” she
added.

While she plans to
come back, fighting Holm took a toll on the mixed marital arts fighter.

“It might be three to six months before I can eat an apple, let alone
take an impact,” she said.

Rousey was criticized (including by Lady Gaga in an Instagram post) for not touching gloves before the octagon match-up with Holm. The fighter addressed that in the interview with ESPN magazine.

“It was just like
a reaction,” Rousey said. “I was like, ‘The last time I saw you
[at the weigh-in], you were putting your fist on my chin and trying to get a
cheap hit on me, then you turn around and you want to touch gloves? You have to
be one way or the other. So if you want to be that way with me, that’s the way
it is.'”
