Rose McGowan Fired By ‘Wussy’ Agent After Calling Out Sexist Audition

Rose McGowan has been speaking out about Hollywood sexism, and she says it’s starting to cost her.

The “Charmed” star claimed she was dropped from her talent agency on Wednesday after mocking a recent wardrobe request she allegedly received for an upcoming Adam Sandler project.

“I just got fired by my wussy acting agent because I spoke up about the bulls**t in Hollywood. Hahaha,” Rose posted on Twitter.

Rose Tweeted the note in question on June 17, which asked actresses to arrive at the audition wearing a “black (or dark) form fitting tank that shows off cleavage (push up bras encouraged). And form fitting leggings or jeans.”

She laughed off the advice and put the movie’s lead actor on blast, writing, “casting note that came w/script I got today. For real. Name of male star rhymes with Madam Panhandler hahahaha I die”

Despite her public misgivings, Rose later made it clear she wasn’t targeting the comedian specifically, but rather the larger message at hand.

“I’m not trying to vilify Adam Sandler,” the actress told Entertainment Weekly in interview published on Tuesday. “I was offended by the stupidity more than anything. I was offended by the fact that went through so many people’s hands and nobody red flagged it. This is normal to so many people. It was probably even a girl that had to type it up. It’s institutionally okay.”

The “Grindhouse” star has been busy promoting her directorial debut with the short film “Dawn,” which premiered during January’s Sundance Film Festival. With her focus shifting behind the camera and beyond, Rose doesn’t seem to mind being cut loose.

“The awesome thing about being an artist? You can’t be fired from your own mind. #FREEDOM,” she Tweeted on Wednesday.
