Rosie Apologizes To Elisabeth; Reignites Trump Feud

NEW YORK (March 2, 2007) — ?The View? moderator Rosie O?Donnell has apologized for shutting down co-host Elisabeth Hasslebeck earlier this week.Rosie exchanged heated words with the former ?Survivor? contestant on air, over whether the government had a right to listen in on citizen?s phone calls. The conservative Hasslebeck said she supported the government eavesdropping.?Elisabeth, you are very young and you are very wrong,? Rosie said at the time. The New York Post?s Page Six reports, such verbal matches on ?The View,? with Rosie have lead Hasselbeck to consider leaving the show. Page Six reports she ?was shopping for a permanent spot at E!?Using her website Rosie.com, O’Donnell blogged, ?I said some of Elisabeth’s comments were ignorant, which was ignorant itself.??It is a hard job there on ?The View,?? Rosie continued. ?The lines between TV and truth overlap and blur.?Rosie blogged the two have moved past this week?s word play.?I love Elisabeth. I hurt her feelings,? Rosie wrote. ?I feel badly. She has forgiven me.?This is not the first on-screen fracas for Rosie. The outspoken host previously engaged in a war of words with Kelly Ripa (over Clay Aiken) and Donald Trump (over Miss USA Tara Conner). In fact, the situation forced Rosie to revisit her situation with Trump in the same post. ?Fame is odd,? she continued. ?Why would Barbara Walters be involved in my ?feud? with the dump truck? She was not on the show that day. She had nothing to do with what I said. Why did he involve her?Rosie even suggests her new blog post, which references Trump will continue their public war of words.?If I didn?t blog about him anymore he would leave me alone. Yes . . . well, no deal Howie,? she wrote.
