Rosie Not Right For ‘Price’

NEW YORK, NY (June 25, 2007) – The most talked about decision in daytime TV has finally been made — at least according to Rosie. O’Donnell will not replace game show host legend Bob Barker on “The Price Is Right for one very specific reason.

“If they were able to do it in New York it would be a different story but it looks like it ain’t gonna happen,” O’Donnell said in her video blog on Rosie.com.

“I don’t really need a job,” she added. “I’m in a weird position. I don’t really need the money.”

Rosie reportedly met with “Price Is Right” producers last week and passed on their substantial offer to take over for Bob Barker. The deal breaker wasn’t the money – it was location. Rosie lives in New York with wife Kelli and their four kids.

“To get my entire family uprooted from their lives and move them cross country so I can have a fantasy childhood indulgence job, it just doesn’t seem fair,” she said. “They all are in school, they have friends. We love their school, we love our community, we love our house, our life, our home.”

O’Donnell, who’s currently on the Texas leg of Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colors” tour also used her blog to share her true feelings about a possible tour surprise – a potential appearance by Britney Spears.

“The rumors are swirling that Britney is joining us in LA. Now Cyndi said it wasn’t happening. It’s Cyndi’s tour so she would know, but if it is happening, I’m thrilled because I enjoy Britney,” Rosie said.

Back when she co-hosted “The View,” Rosie suggested a formerly troubled Spears move in with her.

“Britney, if you’re watching honey, you and me, we’ll share like a backstage moment. I love you kid,” she added on her blog.
