Rosie O’Donnell is speaking out after the Oprah Winfrey Network announced that “The Rosie Show” will tape its final episode on Tuesday, March 20.
“It was fair,” Rosie said, said from the Chicago set of “The Rosie Show,” in a video posted on YouTube.
“Listen, Oprah gave me an amazing shot at doing this. She really did. She put me back on TV. She believed in me. I didn’t even know if I could do it again,” she continued. “And off I came here to Chicago, with the best of intentions, trying, really, to do… what I thought would be kind of easy for me, but it wasn’t really that easy. We sort of started off the wrong way. We were kind of trying to do a little bit of what we had done 15 years ago, and you can’t do it.”
The talk show host stressed that the media queen was supportive during their time working together.
“Oprah has treated me with nothing but respect and with dignity from day one… It’s not a nightmare, it’s a good thing,” Rosie added.
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, after news broke that Rosie’s show was getting axed, Donald Trump reopened his feud with the TV star, slamming the exiting television host on Twitter.
“Rosie O’Donnell has failed again. Her ratings were abysmal and Oprah cancelled her on Friday night,” Trump Tweeted on Monday morning. “When will media executives learn that Rosie just hasn’t got it.”
The final episode of “The Rosie Show” will air, Friday, March 30 on OWN.
