Every bride hopes for the perfect wedding day, but things might not be completely perfect for the beautiful Kate Middleton when she weds the future king of England, Prince William, on Friday. Plus, is she set to get a little help for the big event from her future grandmother-in-law?
It’s In The Skies: When Access Hollywood arrived on the ground in London just a few days ago, it felt as if our team had never even left Los Angeles - it was sunshine everywhere! As of Tuesday morning, however, Britain experienced a shift. London is now overcast and covered in a shade of gray and it is unlikely to get any better in time for “commoner” Kate Middleton’s big day. According to London’s The Times newspaper, as it stands, there will be a heavy cloud cover and possibly between a 60-70% chance of raining on the bride’s parade.
Something Borrowed: Kate Middleton might be getting a little help from her groom’s grandmother when it comes to using “something borrowed” for her wedding attire – in the form of a historic jeweled tiara. According to The Sun, it was a gambler who directed press attention to the beautiful Russian head piece, first made for Queen Mary in the early 1900’s. The rumors started after a well-spoken woman tried to put down a sizeable bet that Kate would wear the historic item. The Sun reported the woman was turned down at the first betting establishment, as the owner believed she had insider information. Instead, she moved on to another betting establishment and put down almost $10,000 at 12/1 odds. If Kate does don the tiara, owned by The Queen, the wagering woman could be raking in quite a pretty penny, as the Brit’s say.
Prince William The Regular?: With the minutes inching ever closer to the actual wedding, it’s not just the tabloids that are filled with stories about Kate and Wills. On Tuesday, the UK’s Guardian newspaper ran a two page piece on the prince under the headline, “He’s Just A Regular Guy.” According to writer Stephen Bates, those who’ve met the prince consider him to be “approachable, genial and serious-minded.” Some of that clearly comes from his late mother, Princess Diana, who reportedly regularly told Wills he had a duty to fulfill as the future king of England, and he could use his influence for good. And he has clearly taken those lessons to heart, having already worked with numerous hospital, homeless and HIV/AIDS charities, making him an even-better catch for Kate!
