Russell Brand Denies Larry King’s Advances; Refuses To Share Wedding Details

Russell Brand will not divulge details of his recent Indian wedding to pop star Katy Perry – not even to Larry King. On “Larry King Live” on Thursday, the veteran talk show host did his best to get the newlywed to fold, but to no avail.

“Where did the wedding take place? Not on an elephant,” Larry asked the “Get Him to The Greek” star, referencing rumors of the groom’s entrance by elephant at the ultra-secret ceremony.

“Oh good Lord, no. I’m not going to involve [elephants] ever again,” Russell laughed. “They’re unreliable. If a firework goes off they start causing their own scene.”

“So where you married?” Larry continued. “Describe the wedding.”

“In the ground. In India,” Russell said. “I’m trying to find [India] on your map, which I recently learned is just colored in. When you look at it on your [television] it looks like some glowing map of the earth, but when you see it up close, it looks like you and probably your wife, Shaun, have colored it in with colored pencils.

“Now what’s going on, Larry?” he laughed, avoiding the question.

“Did you get married in a synagogue in India?” Larry pressed.

“No, because neither of us are Jewish. We got married at court,” Russell said. “In a synagogue or mosque or anywhere, it doesn’t matter the difference. There’s only one God, and I reckon a dog recognizes its master in any clothes. God is God. So we got married just outside.

“My wife will kill me,” Russell explained. “She said I’m not supposed to give any more information. What am I supposed to say, ‘Oh Larry King asked me?’”

The suspender-loving anchor gave it one more try, asking, if a priest married the couple due to Katy’s Christian upbringing.

“I don’t know much about the ole’ religion myself,” Russell replied. “I don’t know a lot about God but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t a chef or a butler or a tiger.”

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Katy and Russell wed in a private ceremony in India on October 23. The couple met at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2009, and announced their engagement in January 2010.
