Following Prince Harry’s nude Las Vegas photo flap, Olympic swimming star Ryan Lochte (who partied with the Brit in Sin City) has some advice for the Royal – something that fellow swimming star Michael Phelps first shared with him.
“Ever since the Olympics, I’ve been more aware of my surroundings… You just got to watch out,” Ryan told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Thursday’s Access Hollywood Live. “After London, [Michael Phelps] did come to me and was like, ‘You know what? You gotta start watching out for everything.’ He definitely did help me out.”
Ryan said he was surprised that nude photos of the Prince were taken and later published online.
“It just goes to show you that you have to watch every move you make,” he said.
“I was kind of shocked that someone would actually do that, just put [the photos] out there,” the swimmer added.
Ryan met up with the Prince prior to Harry’s – now infamous – Vegas moment, but everyone’s clothes (minus their shirts) stayed on.
“His people came over to me and said, ‘Hey, you want to meet Prince Harry?’ and I said, ‘Oh, by all means.’ So I went over there, I was still fully dressed. And he said, ‘Hey, you wanna go in the pool and race me?’ And I’m like, ‘You wanna lose?’” he recalled. “And so we jumped in, I took off my shirt, he jumped in and we raced. I think I had my shoes on still. Afterwards we were just hanging out in the pool, just talking.”
According to Ryan, Harry was very popular with the poolside ladies.
“They were all over the place… They definitely loved every minute of it,” Ryan told Billy and Kit. “I don’t think it was really hard for him to get any kind of girls there.”
Ryan also chatted about his continued affection for his celebrity crush, Blake Lively.
“I would love to meet her. I don’t know what I would say if actually met her, I think I would be in shock,” he said, acknowledging that Blake is dating Ryan Reynolds.
So who else does the swimmer have his eye on in Hollywood?
“Before Blake lively, I always had a crush on Carmen Electra,” he revealed.
But would Ryan be up for a woman like Carmen?
“I’m a swimmer, I could handle pretty much anything,” he said with a smile.
