Ryan Reynolds Admits Battling An Evil Force While Filming ‘Green Lantern’ – Blake Lively’s Cookies

Ryan Reynolds got into even better shape for his new film, “Green Lantern,” and it wasn’t easy.

“I was eating momentarily distracted tourists… just a couple of shoes sticking out of my mouth,” Ryan said with a straight face, when he was interviewed by Access Hollywood’s Maria Menounos on Monday afternoon at the junket to promote the film, when asked about what he chowed down on to get his envy-worthy body.

“That’s the thing about these movies, you eat twice as much as you normally would. It’s not less, it’s more, because naturally my body wants to look like Dick Van Dyke. So you’re pounding, you’re eating everything you can possibly eat. So much protein, it’s just awful, you finish the movie, you go home and shrink,” he said, adding with another straight face, “Don’t take that out of context. Please don’t.”

While the actor plays a superhero on the big screen, he faced an evil foe behind the camera on the set, one that worked hard to try and put fat pounds on his lean frame. The culprit? Blake Lively’s baked treats.

“She bakes for everybody on the set, I’m trying to be in shape, I have to play a superhero… and she’s coming on the set like Mrs. Fields, every day,” he said. “Like a platter of everything, sprinkles everywhere and sugar everywhere and oh my God.”

Blake is known for her own lean body, and Maria asked the “Gossip Girl” how she keeps in shape herself if she eats her own cookies and cakes.

“Yeah, how do you do that?” Ryan chimed in.

“I think if you eat a lot of it really fast,” Blake said with a laugh.

“You don’t want to tell people that on camera,” Ryan chimed in with some brotherly advice, tongue-in-cheek. “You want to tell people you have four chambers in your stomach like a bovine.”

“No,” she laughed. “I worked out for ‘Green Lantern,’ though… a lot.”

“Baking,” Ryan laughed.

“Green Lantern” hits theaters on June 17.
