The Screen Actors Guild Award nominations were announced on Wednesday morning, and this year’s nominees are thrilled!
Here’s what the stars had to say:
Matthew McConaughey, nominated for “True Detective”: “To Rustin Cohle – the best outlaw west of Woody Harrelson and the best detective in the business – thanks to Nic for the ownership and to my fellow actors for the nomination.”
J.K. Simmons, nominated for “Whiplash”: “Thank you to the members of SAG for this wonderful news. It’s an honor to be mentioned in this group. ‘Whiplash’ was a 19-day labor of love (well, actually, I had two days off…) with a brilliant writer-director and a GREAT CAST! It’s always gratifying to have your work recognized, especially by your peers. Thank you very much.”
Viola Davis, nominated for “How To Get Away with Murder”: “I am honored to be nominated by my peers. I am truly grateful. Thank you.”
Benedict Cumberbatch, nominated for “Imitation Game,” “Sherlock”: “I’m over the moon. And so delighted to receive recognition in such esteemed company for both ‘Sherlock’ and ‘The Imitation Game’ by my acting peers. What an amazing early Christmas present! Thank you to all who voted and watched both pieces of work.”
Keira Knightley, nominated for “Imitation Game”: “Thank you so much to the Screen Actors’ Guild. It’s such an honor to be nominated by your peers and in the company of this group of talented women. I’m thrilled to celebrate this morning with Benedict and the cast.”
Eddie Redmayne, nominated for “The Theory of Everything”: “To be nominated by my peers, and to be included in a list that is comprised of so many actors I admire, is an incredible honor.
