Sandra Bullock Makes Surprise Appearance At Nashville Flood Benefit

Sandra Bullock lent her star power – and musical skills – to a good cause on Tuesday night.

The actress made a surprise appearance at Nashville Rising: A Benefit Concert for Flood Recovery, hosted by Faith Hill and the actress’ “The Blind Side” co-star, Tim McGraw.

In a video posted on YouTube from the event, the actress is seen taking the stage as the crowd goes wild.

“They say a community is only as strong as its weakest link, and from the looks of it there are no weak links in this community because you guys have been so strong and taken care of each other and taught this country a really great lesson.” Sandra told the crowd.

The actress explained that she was inspired by the music artists performing at the benefit to give back more than just a few laughs.

“I’m going to contribute some music and I’m going to bring the house down,” Sandra, who had an acoustic guitar with her, told the crowd. “And I’m going to do it Nashville style!”

The 45-year-old actress then said, “If I could have some quiet, please,” before strumming the opening notes to Deep Purple’s “Smoke On the Water.”

“OK, who am I kidding, I can’t play for crap!” Sandra joked, and then introduced Faith, who declared, “It’s good stuff isn’t it! Sign that girl right away.”

Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Miley Cyrus, LeAnn Rimes, Toby Keith, ZZ Top and Trace Adkins were among the performers at Tuesday’s benefit, which – according to People – raised over $2 million for victims affected by the May floods in the Nashvilee area.
