Sandra Bullock & Melissa McCarthy Teaming Up With Bridesmaids Director For Cop Comedy

Get ready to have your sides split — Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy are teaming up for a “buddy cop” movie, according to Variety.

And, as if the two comically-gifted stars aren’t hilarious enough, the as-of-yet untitled comedy will be directed by Paul Feig (“Bridesmaids”) from a script penned by “Parks and Recreation” staff writer Katie Dippold.

The film will follow the tense working relationship between a “high-strung FBI agent” (Sandra) and an “unconventional Boston cop” (Melissa) who work together to bring down a Russian mobster, according to the trade paper.

The cop comedy isn’t the only project on Melissa’s incredibly full plate at the moment — the Oscar-nominated actress is heading into her third season on CBS’ “Mike and Molly,” just wrapped production on Judd Apatow’s “This is 40,” and is currently filming Seth Gordon’s “Identity Thief” alongside Jason Bateman and Jon Favreau.

Sandra was last seen on the big screen in last year’s “Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close” with Tom Hanks, and recently wrapped upcoming sci-fi thriller “Gravity” with George Clooney.
