Sarah Jessica Parker & Matthew Broderick Expecting Twin Girls Via Surrogate

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are expecting twin daughters through a surrogate mother, Access Hollywood has confirmed.

“Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are happily anticipating the birth of their twin daughters later this summer with the generous help of a surrogate,” a rep for the couple said in a statement to Access. “The entire family is overjoyed.”

The twins would be the second and third children for the “Sex and The City” star and her actor husband.

Parker, 44, and Broderick, 47, have been married since 1997.

They have a 6-year-old son together, James Wilkie Broderick.

And while Parker is ready to be a mom again, the actress said she doesn’t expect to see her “Sex and The City” counterpart, Carrie Bradshaw, follow the same maternal path.

“It doesn’t seem as if that’s going to be a choice she’ll make. I don’t know,” Parker previously told MTV News when asked if fans would see Carrie as a mom in the big screen sequel.

“[Writer/director] Michael [Patrick King] and I never talk about it. That doesn’t mean that won’t be part of the story. We just haven’t figured it out,” she added. “It feels a little bit manipulative to toss that into the mix, because she seems so pointed in a different direction.”

“Sex and The City 2” is slated for release in May 2010.
