If imitation is the highest form of flattery, then Sarah Palin must be feeling very honored.
The Alaska governor was laughing with the rest of America when “30 Rock” star Tina Fey returned to “Saturday Night Live” for the NBC show’s season premiere where she portrayed the vice president hopeful.
Tina appeared alongside Amy Poehler, who did her always-impressive and hilarious Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton impression. The pair offered “A Nonpartisan Message” to America about sexism in the campaign. The sketch satirized such topics as Palin’s religious beliefs and foreign policy.
“I can see Russia from my house!” Tina said in best Alaskan accent, adding about global warming, “I believe it’s just God hugging us closer.”
“She thought it was quite funny, particularly because she once dressed up as Tina Fey for Halloween,” Palin spokesperson Tracey Schmitt told CBS.
According to her spokesperson, the governor and the press corps watched the sketch in the back of her plane, laughing at Tina and Amy’s satirical take on the two politicians.
“Saturday Night Live” is planning three primetime “Weekend Update” specials before the election. Viewers could see Fey reprise her Palin role again before America goes to the polls.
