Kerry Washington made her “Saturday Night Live” hosting debut this weekend!
The “Scandal” star, who is reportedly expecting her first child with husband Nnamdi Asomugha, spoofed Ylvis’ viral video hit, “The Fox (What Does The Fox Say?)” in a hilarious digital short alongside Jay Pharoah.
Kerry and Jay remade the Norwegian comedy duo’s hit as “What Does My Girl Say?,” the story of a suspicious girlfriend who ditches her boyfriend at a family get together after finding texts and photos from other women on his phone. (Jay’s “girl,” Kerry, says things like, “Who that, who that, who that b*tch?!” and “You done, you done messed up now!” to the tune of “The Fox.”)
“SNL” also addressed their cast’s recently-headline-making lack of black women, having Kerry play both Michelle Obama and Oprah before disappearing offstage to play Beyonce in a White House-set cold open. White House Press Secretary (Taran Killam) then introduced President Obama (Jay Pharoah) to “six Matthew McConaugheys” while they waited for Beyonce to appear – highlighting the fact that the show’s cast includes zero black women, but enough white men to fill the stage with a half dozen Matthew impersonators.
Al Sharpton emerged to ask, “What have we learned from this sketch? As usual, nothing,” before delivering the show’s signature lead-in, “Live from New York, it’s Saturday night!”
Kerry’s reported pregnancy was not mentioned during the show, but the 36-year-old wore loose-fitting clothing throughout the episode.
