Scandal’s Tony Goldwyn: Kerry Washington Will Be ‘Great’ On Saturday Night Live

She’s the epitome of dramatic intensity as Olivia Pope on “Scandal,” but Kerry Washington will bring her comedy A game to “Saturday Night Live” on November 2, says her co-star, Tony Goldwyn.

“She’s hilarious,” Tony, who plays President Fitzgerald Grant on the Shonda Rhimes show, told Access Hollywood at the Wallis Annenberg Inaugural Gala in Beverly Hills on Thursday, when asked about Kerry’s upcoming “SNL” gig. “You know, she plays a more serious character on TV, but Kerry is the first one on our show to be creating mayhem. So, she’s gonna be great.”

If the late night sketch show parodies “Scandal,” Tony said he has an idea for who should play Fitz.

“I applied for the job but they wouldn’t have me,” he joked. “Who would play Fitz? I don’t know. Maybe they’ll bring in Will Ferrell.”

Adding, “How about that? How good would that be?!”

And Tony’s sister, Liz Goldwyn, said she plans to watch Kerry’s “SNL” debut as well.

“I tune in for anything that’s Tony-related,” she told Access, also hoping for a “SNL” “Scandal” sketch. “I think [Kerry] is a great actress and has fantastic and impeccable style, and intelligence.”

Kerry will host “Saturday Night Live” on November 2, with musical guest Eminem.
