Scarlett Johansson Requests Black Widow Movie From Marvel

Will Marvel take Scarlett Johansson’s request for a Black Widow standalone movie?

Fans have been clamoring for a female-led superhero movie and the actress opened up about it at the London premiere of “Captain America: The Winter Solider” on Thursday night.

“If you want to see a Black Widow spin-off movie, then I want to see it,” the 29-year-old, who is expecting her first child, told reporters, according to The Guardian.

Adding, “We’ll see. We will put the request into Marvel tomorrow.”

But Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has wondered if a movie fronted by Black Widow – who will appear in at least two upcoming Marvel projects – would satisfy the public’s needs.

“Frankly if we do a Black Widow movie after ‘Age of Ultron,’ when she’s been central in three or four movies I don’t think we’d get the quote unquote credit for it,” he recently told Badass Digest when asked if Black Widow made sense as the studio’s “first standalone female hero.” “People would say, ‘She’s already a big giant superhero!’ But if we had a great idea, we’d do it.”

Could this mean a different female superhero movie is in the works, possibly Carol Danvers, the original Ms./Captain Marvel?

“We’ve talked a lot about [Captain Marvel]. I think that would be very cool,” Feige said when asked about the character.

In the meantime, Scarlett’s Widow is prominently featured in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” hitting theaters on April 4.
