Scarlett Johansson Slams Own Nickname

Scarlett Johansson would like you to use her whole name – and no nickname – please.

The 29-year-old “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” star opened up to Glamour magazine about her “ScarJo” moniker — something she feels is “insulting.”

“I associate that name with, like, pop stars. It sounds tacky. It’s lazy and flippant,” she told the mag’s May 2014 issue.

“And there’s something kind of violent about it. There’s something insulting about it,” she said of the name that the media is prone to using when talking about the actress.

Scarlett, who is expecting her first child with fiance Romain Dauriac, also opened up about her personal life after her divorce from Ryan Reynolds in 2010.

“I feel I know now more of what I need in a relationship, what I want in a relationship. And I know I have more tools to communicate, not just with my partner, but with myself,” she explained. “That’s not necessarily any reflection of who I was married to or what was happening in my marriage, but really where I was in my life.”

As for her new record-breaking Marvel movie, the actress is overjoyed for her superhero life on the big screen.

“I had some pretty rad fight sequences in ‘Avengers,’ but a lot of the fighting in ‘Winter Soldier’ is hand-to-hand. It’s brutal, street-fighting style, such a weird thing: I kind of got career-sidetracked in the superhero lane – happily! But I never thought I’d have, like, sports injuries,” she told the mag.
